moores law sustainability=celebrate social solutions worldwide

world greatest inventions systemised by Dr Yunus global social business system

our purpose is to explain as simply as possible in a way we would hope all teenagers one day have access to and not just this 9 year old we filmed in new york 2008

it took 7 years between 1976 and 1983 to design the grameen bank around the micro-micro franchise of 60 banking centres of 60 village women being served weekly by visits from the same bank branch team -thus a bank manager's branch is responsible for 3600 customers - these days over 2500 branches means over 8 million village member - who are all the main co-owners of the bank ( that was according to Bangladesh bank ordinance 1983 which ran to about 2012 when sheikh hasina has started changing the law)

the pro-youth and inter-generational success of grameen bank comes from the way dr yunus insipred many thousand young financial experts to go and live in the vilages and act as bank managers who serve the villages visiting every centre once a week- and originally ensuring that each group of 5 new custoiners took 5 day training on basic constructs of financial and other literacy

during these 7 years -1976-1983 the 5th through 12 of the new nation of bangaldesh -  dr yunus -and his co-founding team (especially mrs begum whose female team memebers were the only ones permitted by custom to talk directly with prospective rural female customers) - decided that the most economic way that a bank could end poverty was to serve village mothers - that's remains over 90% of grameen customers today

the bank developed a 3-in-one service:

financial always some small savings at same time as credit (only offered for income generating or family building )

market place for each 60 women

knowledge circle at weekly meetings and communally 24/7 - through the banks 16 decisions elected by the members the women regenerated the local community and decided that the main goal of their savings would be to invest in their children - nutrition, health, job creating education

most of the greatest innovations of the bank once it was up and running were non-financial - see choice of microfranchsi9es to explore http://globalgrameen.ning.com/

as investors in open educators, Norman Macrae Foundation welcome:

1 simple practical descrpitions of how grameen bank in bangladesh was built - not elsewhere since bnagladesh is the benchmark we would advise students to understand first

2 questions on any ways we can help students connect with interns of grameen bank - past, present or future

chris.macrae@yahoo.co.uk

we maintain some strategic notes at www.thegrameenbank.com - we believe the main website still edited by yunus team in Dhaka is www.grameen-info.org

you can find films we made of all of the original founders of Grameen Bank and sampled to 10000 youth at www.yunus10000.com
